Covering 28,000 acres of land on the slopes of the Sierra de Luquillo mountains, El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest System. Some areas of these jungled mountains receive over 20 feet of rainfall a year, creating a lush ecosystem with four distinct forests climbing the slopes. A number of hiking trails wind through the jungle, showcasing the rugged scenery and biodiversity of the mountains held holy by the Taino. For some fun in nature, the El Angelito trail is just a half mile long and brings you to a jungle lagoon you can dive into. For more intrepid hikers looking to see more of El Yunque’s ecosystem, the challenging 0.8-mile Mount Britton trail will have you climbing pathways through the Sierra Palm and into the cloud forest. At the end, you’ll be rewarded with some amazing views from atop a 1930s lookout tower. You can adjust your stop time according to the hiking trail you plan to take. While you can cancel your booking for a full refund up to 24 hours in advance, changes requested under 36 hours are subject to driver availability, especially in the high season.

Each passenger is allowed one large bag (29" x 21" x 11" / 74 x 53 x 28 cm) and one small bag (22" x 14" x 9" / 56 x 36 x 23 cm). Luxury sedans can only accommodate 2 large bags. We always send the vehicle that is the best fit for you and your luggage, so make sure to select the actual amount of luggage you are traveling with when booking. If you have oversized luggage, or are unsure if your luggage will fit, contact us.
