Panoramic views from Petřín Hill

Walk or take the funicular up Petřín Hill from the Ujezd tram stop for one of the best views of Prague. The hilltop is punctuated by Petřín Tower, a miniature of the Eiffel Tower (locals like to boast that it's actually taller than the Eiffel Tower...since it's on top of a hill). Passage Lucerna

Despite being a short walk from Wenceslas Square, Passage Lucerna is one of the best things

to do in Prague for a 20th-century throwback. If you're a fan of David Černý's, Passage Lucerna should be high on your list. Hanging in the atrium is one of his most controversial sculptures – Saint Wenceslas riding an upside-down horse.

Besides this interesting sculpture, the Passage Lucerna is also home to a collection of shops, a charming old cinema, an early 1900s-style cafe, a rooftop summer bar, and a music bar that hosts an 80s and 90s party every weekend for those feeling nostalgic. And tucked to one side, another of Prague’s oddities - the paternoster lift aka the “elevator of death”.

Prague is also worth visiting during Christmas if you don't mind the cold – and potentially snow – and can handle walking around in temperatures that don't rise above the mid-30s. Starting in late November, Christmas markets fill nearly every public space in Europe with food stands and festivities. And Prague's Old Town Square Christmas Market is one of the best!
