With Daytrip, a local driver picks you up from your hotel at an agreed upon time, and drives you safely to your hotel in another city, saving you from finding cabs, lugging your bags, and waiting at train station lounges or security lines. You can even add side-trips to castles & little towns you wouldn’t be able to see otherwise!
What is Daytrip?
Daytrip is a platform that connects travelers with local drivers who will transport you from one city to the next. We also give you the opportunity to explore sights/attractions along the way. We drive, you discover.
Will my driver speak English?
Yes! All Daytrip drivers speak English as well as their native language (and sometimes additional languages too!). They're happy to discuss local history and culture with you, as well as answer any questions you may have. And because they speak the local language, they're able to provide you with a unique opportunity to connect with natives.
What type of vehicle will I get?
You will receive the vehicle that best fits the number of travelers in your group: a sedan (comparable to Volkswagen Passat) for up to 3 passengers, MPV for groups of 4 (comparable to a Volkswagen Touran), or a van (comparable to Volkswagen Transporter) for groups of up to 7. For larger groups, a combination of vehicles will be used. Prices fluctuate accordingly, and you can see the exact quote on the booking page. While the exact model may vary, we always ensure that the vehicle provided meets your needs in terms of safety, reliability, and comfort. Depending on availability, you may be upgraded to a larger vehicle class free of charge.
Will my luggage fit?
Each passenger is allowed to have one large luggage (29 x 21 x 11 inches) and one small luggage (22 x 14 x 9 inches). Luxury sedans can only accommodate 2 checked bags. Please let us know if you have oversized luggage, and we will help you upgrade to a larger vehicle.
Can I book a trip now and add a stop later?
You can do any changes in your itinerary free of charge until 24 hours before departure. If you need to do a last-minute change less than 24 hours before departure, we’ll do our best to accommodate it (additional fees may apply).
Will my driver call me to confirm pick-up?
Your driver will meet you at the agreed time and place and won’t be contacting you before, unless necessary. You’ll receive a reminder with your driver’s name and mobile number a few days before departure in case you need to contact him or her.
What's included in the price? Are there any additional fees?
The quoted price is final and there are no additional fees for our services. However, optional third party activities such as tours or attraction fees are not included in the price. Rest assured there will be no surprises or additional fees from Daytrip.
Where will my driver pick me up?
Your driver can pick you up at your hotel, apartment, cruise ship dock, or any other pick-up point accessible by car. This applies to your drop-off location as well. No need to worry about buses, cabs, or other connections - Daytrip provides door-to-door service!
I did not find the destination I need to travel to/from on your website, can you still take me there?
If your desired route is not listed on our website, please shoot an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll do our best to accommodate your custom request - and maybe add it as a regular route!
Is it safe to travel with Daytrip?
We always screen our drivers for criminal and traffic records, and personally interview each one/ inspect their cars for safety, comfort, and reliability. All cars must be less than ten years old, in excellent operating condition, and insured as required by local law. And because our drivers are locals, they're familiar with the rules and customs of the road. We believe this provides a safer, more relaxing experience for you.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Yes, we’re happy to accommodate your animal companion! Please let us know in advance if you will be travelling with pets, including service and emotional support animals, so we can ensure there will be enough space for you, your pet, and your luggage in the vehicle. If you don’t inform us in advance, we can’t guarantee that your driver will be able to accommodate you or offer any refund.
How Do I book?
Simply choose your origin and destination via our homepage or take a look at our featured routes. Browse and add additional points of interest along the way by following the booking instructions provided on screen. It's a simple, easy, and fun way to book your next adventure! If you don't see your desired route, don't worry, you can request a custom trip!
How Can I Pay?
You can pay in advance via credit card or directly in cash following your trip. You can use the button at the top of the page to switch the currency, but you will be charged in Euros. Your bank may use a different exchange rate.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your trip for any reason, simply call or send us an email. We understand that travel plans can change and we currently don't charge a fee for cancellations made up to 24 hours before departure.
Is gratuity included/expected?
Gratuity is excluded from the total price and is not a requirement. However, if you're extremely satisfied with the service, you can reward your driver with an optional tip (10% is sufficient).
Can I request a smoke-free car?
We strive to make your trip as comfortable as possible, and the air you breathe in the car is an important part of this. All drivers are required to keep their cars smoke-free, and generally as scent-neutral as possible. Which means no smoke, no dust, and no air fresheners.
Will my sightseeing stop be open?
We can’t guarantee every attraction will be open for every trip, especially during the off-season. We recommend checking the opening hours in advance, or contact our customer service department if you have any questions about your trip.
