The Storms River Suspension Bridge was first built across the mouth of the Storms River in 1969, and has since been rebuilt to ensure its safety and stability. Stretching 77 meters across a gorge, the bridge is only 7 meters above the water, which makes for an amazing experience when the tide is coming in, or there’s a swell coming from the Indian Ocean. Before reaching the bridge, you’re treated to a 900 meter walk through the rich Tsitsikamma forest and along a pebbled beach. On the pathway back, 2 smaller suspension bridges, and plenty of rest spots provide more great views. Please note: there are lots of steps, so this stop is not recommended for those with mobility issues.
