Castello di Caccamo was built by the Normans in the 12th century. Here, they plotted against King William I of Sicily, though their rebellion was quelled before any action was taken. Today, the room where they schemed is known as the ‘Hall of Conspiracy’. Exploring the halls and battlements of one of Sicily’s largest and best preserved Norman fortifications, visitors or treated to stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
