Boschendal winery was founded as a farm by French Heugonot refugee Jean Le Long in 1685. Since then, it’s developed into a renowned destination for food and wine. The original farmstead is a national monument, while the vineyards, gardens, and farm work harmoniously with nature and serve guests home-y farm-to-table meals. Visitors can enjoy a guided wine tasting, order a pre-prepared picnic to enjoy on the grounds, or tuck into a hearty meal at the restaurant. There are even guest cottages for those who want to stay in this slice of agricultural paradise longer. Visits must be booked in advance at www.boschendal.com/eat-and-drink/manor-house-wine-tasting
