Slovenia is a country in Central Europe bordering the Alps and the Mediterranean. It’s known for its beautiful scenery and outdoor recreation. 1.) Lake Bled


This emerald-green glacial lake is located in the Julian Alps in Northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. It has been ranked many times as one of the top 10 most beautiful lakes in the world. A Baroque church sits on a small fairytale island in the middle of the lake, giving it a truly spectacular view.

Slovenia’s capital and largest city offers a plethora of theaters, museums, and galleries as well as a fairytale-like castle. It’s an unspoiled, charming city where old meets new. With a name (according to one theory) meaning “beloved”, how could you not love it?

3.) Predjama Castle

The dramatic Predjama Castle dominates the surrounding area, perched high on a cliff and wedged beneath a stone archway. This unique castle is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It has been listed as one of the top 10 castles in the world and is considered a true masterpiece. 

4.) Maribor

Maribor is the second largest city in Slovenia, offering the perfect mix of city life and relaxed countryside ambience. Enclosed by wine-growing hills, the center of town grows the oldest vine in the world (over 450 years). It oozes charm, culture, and a vibrant nightlife. 

5.) Skocjan Caves


Skocjan Caves is one of the largest underground canyons in the world. It’s made up of a network of 11 caves with massive underground lakes, bridges, gorges, and waterfalls. It’s often referred to as “the underground Grand Canyon”.

6.) Lake Bohinj


Lake Bohinj is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia. Although less visited than Lake Bled, it lacks none of its beauty or splendor. The clear blue-green water with a picturesque mountain-side backdrop is truly a stunning sight to behold.

7.) Postojna Caves

Postojna is a 24,120m long cave in southwestern Slovenia, making it the second longest cave in the country. The cave is made of up an extensive network of passages, galleries, and chambers. There’s even a train inside the cave to transport you from one side to the other!
