The fastest way to travel from Cancun to Tulum is by car, therefore a car is of course the best way to travel from Cancun to Tulum since it’s so convenient.

Cancun to Tulum by bus

To travel from Cancun to Tulum by bus, go to the Cancun bus station and buy a ticket to Tulum (make sure you buy a direct option). While you can buy your ticket at the station, it’s best to purchase them in advance. There are many buses to Tulum that depart from Cancun. The earliest bus is at about 6:00 AM, and the last bus is at about 10:15 PM, with one bus leaving about every 45 minutes. The bus from Cancun to Tulum is run by ADO with bus tickets from Cancun to Tulum costing around 7 EUR (140-190 Pesos)  for the 2.5 hour trip. There is another company that services this route (Autobuses Unidos), but they are also run by ADO and you can find tickets on the ADO website. The distance from Cancun to Tulum is about 130 kilometers.
