Love (Traveling) in the Time of Coronavirus

Couple in Rome

We all know which story is dominating the global news cycle; COVID-19, a new virus which emerged in China at the turn of the New Year. As of the writing of this article, the Novel Coronavirus has spread to over 70 countries, though 80% of all cases exhibit only mild symptoms. Much like the common flu, those most at risk are people with weakened immune systems. It’s easy to become caught up in the whirlwind of new articles, updates, numbers, and general anxiety gripping the population, but we want to focus on these things instead: keeping calm, being prepared, and carrying on, so that you can still enjoy all that our beautiful world has to offer. For example, Italy is being avoided by many travelers, but outside of a handful of cities, it’s still safe to travel in Italy, and according to the WHO travel restrictions are largely ineffective. This may have to be due to the fact that you essentially have to come into direct contact with an infected person. Just see how coronavirus spreads on a plane. We are happy to share some information with all of you so that you can enjoy the safest way to continue traveling this season, comfortable in the knowledge that you have made the most responsible decisions to protect yourself and loved ones from the coronavirus.

Staying Safe from Coronavirus during traveling

Health authorities around the world are working hard to find the most effective way to contain the outbreak, and they are learning more and more each day. In the meantime, they are recommending standard health and safety measures, which will be familiar to all of us, such as:

  • Frequent hand-washing with soap and warm water (at least 20 seconds)

  • Covering your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and immediately throwing the tissue away after.

  • Monitoring your symptoms

  • Maintaining social distancing from those who show symptoms.

This is where Daytrip has you covered - if you need to get from one place to another while avoiding as many crowds as possible, what better way than with a private car transfer? Learn more about safety measures from the World Health Organization, as well as answers to your frequent questions about the coronavirus. They even have a section dedicated to the coronavirus and travel.

Our Safety Promise

We care about keeping our customers as safe and protected as possible. Our drivers will take you from point A to B in a private vehicle, so that you can avoid that bus, or that plane, or that train, and the crowds that come with it. Our drivers always clean their cars for each guest, while attending to their own health and personal hygiene, to give you peace of mind that you can travel in safety and comfort.  We want your trip with us to be a highlight of your holiday, so that you can rest easy the moment you step into one of our partner driver’s vehicles.

Our Cancellation Policy

That said, we understand if you prefer to avoid the crowds altogether, and we have always offered our guests one of the most flexible cancellation policies around: You are free to cancel any booked trip with us up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund. You are also free to make any changes to your itinerary or date up to this 24 hours deadline, so if you wish to postpone or reschedule a trip, simply email us at daytrip@mydaytrip.com and our customer support team will be happy to assist you.
