This was the most visited Art Museum in Germany during 2006 and looking around, it quite easy to see why. Located on Museum island, it focuses on pieces from Antiquity, Islamc and Near Eastern Art. It is one of those places where the building has to be statuesque to cope with the size and the style of parts of the collections like the Pergamon Alter and the Ishtar Gate.
